Our primary and infant schools are expected to provide distance learning for all pupils, but under the current support scheme can only request additional laptops for pupils at Key Stage 2 and above.
Jess and local headteachers have written to the Department of Education calling on them to remove this arbitrary floor on support so that all children can access devices for remote education.
Jess said: "Many families do not have the resources to provide devices for their children, and they should not be disadvantaged by not being able to access remote learning, or forced to return to school which defeats the object of the lockdown."
"The systems are already in place to provide devices for other year groups, so we are simply calling for this to be extended to all students."
