Regulate Supported Accommodation

Jess raises issues with supported accommodation in parliament

Last week a debate was held in Parliament about the increase in supported accommodation across the country.

All too often rogue landlords set up as supported accommodation providers, get paid using tax payers’ money and then do not provide adequate support for the people living there. The Government must ensure more checks are done to prevent rogue landlords abusing the system, and give local councils the power to shut them down.

I was able to speak in this debate and I called on the Government to bring forward a package of measures to end this practise once and for all. I will continue to hold them to account on this issue which is having an impact across the constituency.
