Yardley MP Jess Phillips, alongisde Lynne Baird, organised a meeting with the Police and Crime Commissioner to discuss tackling knife crime in Birmingham.
Sadly last year Lynne Baird’s son, Dan Baird, was attacked outside Digbeth’s Forge Tavern pub and taken to hospital with multiple stab wounds. He unfortunately died from his injuries.
Dan’s murder was part of a number of knife attacks that claimed 11 lives in just seven weeks.
Lynne Baird has since campaigned to bring an end to knife crime in Birmingham, and working alongside Jess is pushing for the Police and Crime Commissioner to launch a dedicated campaign to tackling this issue.
Jess and Lynne are also pushing for an increase in local access to bleed control kits to help save the lives of those who have been attacked.
