Yardley MP Jess Phillips helped the Mereway Group celebrate the completion of their £30,000 charity campaign.
Staff at the Tyseley based office and factory raised £32,852.39, beating their £30,000 target from a series of charity events throughout the year. The company pledged to raise the money in celebration of 30 successful years in business in 2016.
A range of events were undertaken during the year that saw staff and supporters cycling, running, walking, baking, playing golf, hosting dinners and even skydiving throughout the UK. Jess made the cheque presentation to representatives from the four main charities, Acorns, The Birmingham Children’s Hospital Charity, Help for Heroes and Help Harry Help Others at a celebration lunch held at the Tyseley premises.
Jess Phillips MP said:
“It is a pleasure to see a successful local business giving something back."
“It’s amazing what can be achieved when people pull together. I’m very proud to be Mereway’s MP and thank them for their efforts.”
