Jess to fight for Yardley students unfairly affected by A-Level results

Since students received their results yesterday, I have been inundated with emails and calls from students in Yardley who have worked hard for the past 2 years only to be disappointed by grades that bear no relation to their previous work or the grades predicted by the teachers who know them best.

Students, teachers and parents have found the grading system shambolic and bewildering.

This cannot be allowed to stand. The hopes and aspirations of a generation of students is dependent on getting this right, and I will fight for everyone in my constituency who has been affected by this unfair process.

Students should not have to pay to appeal their grades, and I will be raising every single case with the Government. I am also calling for the Government to think again and return to the grades predicted by their teachers as the best available option.

To help me gather information about how this is affecting people in Yardley I am asking you to fill out the survey below if you or your child has been impacted by the A-Level results disaster.

You can fill out the survery here.

Now more than every it is totally unacceptable that the next generation have been let down so badly by an unfair grading system they have no power to influence, and which seemingly has no connection to their actual performance.
