Yardley MP Jess attended a Birmingham City Council consultation regarding the lack of repairs in the flats on Giles Close.
Jess attended a consultation with residents of the flats on Giles Close, meeting representatives of Birmingham City Council, and representatives from Wates.
This consultation occurred in response to the conditions that residents of Crabtree House were left in for the last year. Residents mainly highlighted persistent issues with the heating system, including broken radiators and constant leaking.
In response to the concerns presented to Birmingham City Council by Jess and the residents of Crabtree House, Birmingham City Council have stated that a total overhaul of the heating systems in Crabtree House, Pennycroft Houe, and Giles Close House will commence within the next 8 weeks.
Jess Phillips MP said:
"I am pleased that the council heard our voices, and have committed 2 million pounds to finally upgrade the heating system at Crabtree House, Pennycroft House and Giles Close House."
"I was really proud of residents who spoke up for themselves and their neighbours. It was my honour to get those voices heard."
