Yardley MP Jess Phillips is uniting with the Alzheimer's Society to ensure that the Government are held to account on their promise to reform dementia care.
Social care is currently under-funded and under-resourced, and with an ageing population and an increase in the prevalence of conditions such as dementia these issues are only set to get worse.
While we can't cure or effectively treat dementia it's social care, not the NHS, that hundreds of thousands of people with dementia in the UK rely on every day. The Government has announced plans for a Green Paper on social to be published this summer and camapigners are pushing for people with dementia to be at the centre of any future plans for social care, and that they receive quality care at a fair price.
Jess Phillips MP said:
"It's about time that we reform our social care system, and we need to ensure that any plan the Government puts forward has people's needs at the centre of it."
"That's why I'm uniting with Alzheimer's Society to #FixDementiaCare."
