Yardley MP Jess Phillips visited Professor Paul Moss at Birmingham University to learn about the research being done to improve treatments for patients with blood cancer.
The research is being funded by the amazing charity Bloodwise that has already invested over £70 million in Birmingham over the last 50 years.
Jess visited the labs and spoke to doctors about how their research can improve survival rates and the quality of life for people living with blood cancer.
Jess is an officer for the All Party Parliamentary Group on Blood Cancer, which is calling for blood tests for patients displaying one or more potential symptom of blood cancer.
Jess Phillips MP said:
“My dad was diagnosed with blood cancer when I was 11 and 25 years later research like this means he knows his six grandchildren and has many more years left.”
