Yardley MP Jess Phillips attended the Breast Cancer Now Parliamentary drop-in to show her support for the 'Wear It Pink' campaign.
'Wear It Pink' is a Breast Cancer Now campaign to raise awareness and funds for life-saving research. Over 50,000 women are diagnosed with breast cancer every year in the UK, and currently nearly 11,500 women die of the cancer each year.
Raising funds for research into breast cancer is crucial to discovering how to prevent it, how to detect it earlier and how to treat it effectively at every stage so we can stop the disease taking women's lives.
Jess Phillips MP said:
"I wore pink today, including a pink visor that reminded me of my Nan, to raise awareness of this campaign and to support Breast Cancer Now's research."
"I'd encourage all my constituents, and everyone in the UK, to wear it pink on Friday 20th October to raise funds for vital research."
