I know residents across Birmingham Yardley will share my deep sadness at the news of the Queen’s passing.
Elizabeth II exemplified the values of duty and public service until the very end, providing an example to all of us in public office. Reigning for over 70 years she has been a source of stability and consistency for our nation through a period on unimaginable change, and is the only monarch many of us have ever known.
It is a comfort to know she ended her life in the Balmoral home that she loved with family around her, and my thoughts are with them now during this difficult time.
