Upholding standards in Parliament

I challenged the government on the difference between the experience of charities across the country who must compete for relatively small amounts of government funding and the easy access we have seen given to those with enough money and the right connections.

Standards in public life matter and when they are broken it undermines people’s trust in the whole political system. The government must hold itself and its MPs to a higher standard and not attempt to break or change the rules when they find them inconvenient.
