It was a pleasure to spend some time at the Millennium Green in Acocks Green, and visit the new reed bed system that has been installed there. This improvement will help to clean the water as it joins the Grand Union Canal, and will also encourage the biodiversity of wildlife at the site.
The Westley Vale Trust have worked with the Severn Trent Community Fund to finance the project, which alongside the environmental benefits will also enhance the amenity of the area with wildflowers and a variety of reeds that are used in the filtration of the brook.
Thank you so much to everyone involved, we are incredibly lucky to have such a strong civic community in our area.
